frequently asked questions
Answers to your Frequently Asked questions
How much does it cost to enter?
Entry into the St George’s Hospital Charity Lottery, costs £1 per line, per weekly draw.
Because some months have four weekly draws and some have five, depending on how many Fridays fall within the month, a monthly direct debit of £5 ensures you are entered into every weekly draw and never miss a chance to win.
The excess funds, of 66p a month, are then treated as a donation to St George’s Hospital Charity.
Can St George’s Hospital Charity claim Gift Aid on lottery entries?
No, St George's Hospital Charity cannot claim Gift Aid on payments made for lottery entries, as these are considered payments to participate in a draw.
However, any amount paid above the cost of your lottery entry is treated as a donation. This includes any accumulated pence from months with only four weekly draws. If you are eligible and have completed a Gift Aid declaration, the Charity may be able to claim Gift Aid on that donation element.
What can I win?
By playing the St George’s Hospital Charity Lottery, you will be in with a chance of winning one of our weekly prizes:
- 6-number match = £25,000

- 3-number match = 2 free entries into the next draw
You’ll need to match your numbers in the same order as the numbers in the winning sequence.
